St. Francis House was a recent recipient of a $3,000 charitable grant through the East Boston Savings Bank Charitable Foundation. East Boston Savings Bank President and CEO Richard Gavegnano was invited to tour the facility by Meryl Pinette, Corporate Engagement Officer and Claudia Haydon, Senior Development Officer. Located in the heart of downtown Boston, St. Francis House serves an average of 500 poor and homeless men and women a day, 365 days a year. Their basic, rehabilitative, and housing services overlap and build on one another to provide the guests with continuous and comprehensive care.
“It’s great to see St. Francis House use the charitable funds to enable individuals to meet their basic needs for food, clothing and shelter. The staff transforms lives using a holistic approach to understanding and addressing behavioral health, housing and employment needs. They are committed to helping those they serve achieve renewed lives of dignity and self-determination” says Gavegnano.
At the conclusion of the tour Gavegnano presented Pinette and Haydon with an addition $1,000 donation. “The work being done here is incredible. From providing basic living essentials and nutritional meals to educational and mentoring services, it is very humbling. East Boston Savings Bank is very proud to support their efforts” says Gavegnano.
